TOUFEN 3rd DAY: AROUND LUKANG AND RETURN TO TOUFEn

After the temple visit we walked around the area surrounding the temple. There were a lot of small shops selling all types of temple-related junk as well as food stands.
Here is an interesting thing. This fellow is cutting the inside of some kinf of squash into small cubes.i'll find out its name later.

The small cubes are put in containers, I don't know their benefits later om but I am sure they will have great ones given the nice containers

This was an intereting workshop where customerscan pick up a gourd, draft a design they want onthegourd and then carve it using small electric drills.

Walking around town we went into an old house, that belonged to a wealthy family obviously. Unfortunately, even though there were a lot of painting and drawings ansphotos onthe walls,they were not well kept. The only things that looked nice were these old palanquins.
This one, that is smaller, was for the bride. It has four phoenix scultpures on top. Really beautiful detail but I do not think I cam fit in.
The second palanquin, for the groom I assume, was a little larger and less elaborate.
We walked quite a fair distance to go see the house of the Gu family. However, we got there a little after four and it was closed. The only thing we could do is look through the front gate. 

However, apparently it was a good thing we could not go in, the house has only old furniture andother stuff imside.

When we returned we went for dinner to a  very nice Japanese restaurant. I had several dishes, butthe only thing I remember the name is sake!
Actually, one I remember is the bottom one. The green striped food, that looks like green prepped, is a variety of melon that tastes very
