TOUFEN 2nd DAY: STRAWBERRY CAPITAL OF THE WORLD

I don't know if this is what they call it here, but Dahu Township is clearly the strawberry capital of the world. We start with this humongous strawberry sculpture.

Perhaps instead of Dahu, that means "big lake", the town should be called "Da Caomei" that would mean "Big Strawberry." More appropriate, don't you think?

Here we are just as we arrived, cheerful. Day was nice, but a little cold for Taiwanese. Maya looks happy and pretty; me? I look hmm....

Then, we go into the market area where everythingis strawberry-flavored or strawberry-themed. I was overwhelmed so for some reason I only took a few photos, I will get more from Maya and Andrew.

But we had some sausages with pork and strawberry. Not the kind of sausage I'd want to eat again!

Here is Maya and Andrew after they had eaten cream puffs filled with strawberry cream. They were actually really good.

And of course, cream puffs with faces.

We didn't try the chicken, but Kim-yong Un, dear North Korean  leader looks satisfied.

And the placed was packed with people. Well, maybe not packed but there were quite a few people. Remember that I live in a village where one can go to the supermarket and not see another customer. This a contrast to the tea factory- this is another case where popular beats high-brow culture. Or, to put it in more common terms, Disneyworld beats the art museum.
